Queensland Supra Club Inc.

When I lived in Melbourne I was part of the original group who tried to get Cyber Motorsports formed in Melbourne, however after that I never really got too involved in the 'car scene', or any club for that matter.

I contemplated joining the Toyota Celica and ToyMods car clubs when I owned the Celica, but as I knew I was looking to get a Supra eventually, it just didn't interest me.

Once I got the Supra however, it was another ball game all together. I went straight into hunting for a Supra Club, and much to my dismay, it didn't exist.

Well that's not entirely true, there were a good 30 individuals who were from Queensland who all knew each other through the Australian Supra Forums and a couple of them had had a meeting with the aim to form the Queensland Supra Club.

Despite effort by the guys, the Club had not actually gotten off the ground. I started talking to those involved and picked up the minutes from the meetings, did some research into forming a Non Profit Organisation (NPO), putting together a Constitution (through friends who had started Initial Drift) and put forward a plan to get the Club off the ground.

Kinda funny meeting a heap of people you've only just met and trying to take charge - but, with the assistance of Nick (Mr_BeX), Ed (sirpsychosexxy), Jodie (Chickita) and Harley (Harley ;)) we worked together and by late 2005 the Club was officially incorporated.

Within a year, the Club had over 50 registered and financial members and continues to grow.

Brad from Boosted Xtremes was the first sponsor to the Club and has probably helped out over 50% of our members, in one way or another. It was because of his professionalism and quality of workmanship that I decided to employ his services to do the work on my own Supra.

Our second Club sponsor was Harley from Mayhem Productions. Harley was one of the members who kick started the founding of the Club and has assisted both financially and with the supply of Dj's and equipment at car shows. Mayhem Productions run rave/dance music events in Brisbane and throughout Australia.

Our third Club sponsor is The Drink Nightclub, who came on board to offer our members free entry and provide us with a members party each year.

Not bad for a year.. should be good to see what happens from here on in :)
