Oops
Ok so for no real reason I felt like it was time to post a bit of an update...
What's been going on? Well most recently I managed to incapacitate myself by dancing for 7 hours straight Saturday night in flat shoes.
*apparently* my body can no longer handle this feat, as was demonstrated by my inability to get out of bed and stand on said feet the following day after I'd slept.
It was quite a site I'm sure, as I went to stand up and proceeded to fall flat on my arse when my legs gave in by my own body weight.
Big weekend all up however with Jackie's 29th BBQ Friday night, Julie's 29th and her brothers 30th Saturday night and god knows how much work has been going on. I've been training 6 - 7 days a week as well, which is probably no wonder that after the weekend I've also come down with a throat infection my Doctor says is a result of being run down.
I had to laugh.
For the past 4 - 6 weeks I've been going at a hundred miles an hour, I really haven't had time to scratch myself I've been that busy (or kept myself that busy). Now I've put myself into a situation where I can't actually do much - and instantly I'm feeling down and out.
I am determined that I'll be jogging again within a week, maybe 2 tops. I miss the energy that it generates. I miss feeling like I'm going at a hundred miles an hour. I miss the drive it gives me.
Last week I was pushing the company faster than I think it's ever gone. This week I feel like the company is dragging me by the ankle, caught on the rear bumper as it skates forward on the motion left over.
Movember has started and I've roped in about a dozen of the guys from the Club to grow seedy facial hair with me. The downside of having light hair, it's nearly 6 days in and you can barely notice the facial hair! Oh well! I don't care!
We've hired another engineer, literally interviewed him and hired him the following day. He's started, seems like a good bloke, we'll just have to see how he goes. I'm trying to spend more time with the team out in the field supervising them and working with them. Mel is now running the team from the office, which is working well (when she's in the office).
Where am I? At the moment I'm here, and I have just over a month to do a lot before I go overseas for Christmas - this is normally not a busy time of the year for me but I feel like I'm struggling to reach the surface to breath.
My mind drifts now and then. I had to take the day of sick yesterday and was watching old NCIS re-runs and it reminded me of her.
I've started gathering information so I can start putting together the program for the 2009 ANSM. I need to get everything finalised by December so I can get exposure in the magazines - still trying to work out the full program for the weekend, trying to think of things that'll help balance it out.
I _finally_ managed to edit a video this morning from ANSM2K8.

It's where the guys glad-wrapped one of the other guys cars. We cracked down on the two who did it hard, coz it could have quite easily damaged his car. We made them offer to have the car cut n polished, but in the end the owner calmed down and let it slide - seeing the funny side. As a result we've finally released the footage.
What's really odd is lately I'd rather be asleep by 9 and waking up at 4 or 5.
On that note, I'm out.
